Association of Community andContinuing Education

ACCE
An Organization of California Community Colleges

Advocates for Lifelong Learning in California

Our Purpose:

To develop and promote desirable policies, practices, and support for the educational constituencies within the association and to promote professional growth of the membership.

Objectives and Functions:

  • To contribute to the professionalism of our members.
  • To provide special assistance, including professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Promote friendship and collegiality among those engaged in providing community education, and continuing education.
  • Play a leadership role in the development of legislation and polices affecting our programs.

What You Gain From Membership:

  • Representation at the regional, state and national levels.
  • A quarterly newsletter, statewide college and membership directory, invitations to attend both regional workshops and the annual conference.
  • Legislative liaison and analysis.
  • Affiliation with other professional organizations.

Connections:

ACCE has a long history of working closely with the Chancellor's Office for appointments to all technical advisory committees that serve the organization's areas of interest. To further this effort, the Chancellor's Office maintains an official representative on the ACCE Board. Furthermore, ACCE collaborates with the statewide organization of the Chief Instructional Officers (CIOs) for representation on the Consultation Council and its policy development task forces. Additionally ACCE maintains a legislative analyst position on its Board. This position keeps the organization apprised of all legislative and public policy issues, advocates for specific ACCE positions and develops public policy on issues pertaining to Community Education, and Continuing Education.

Be a part of our statewide network join ACCE today.

Take this opportunity to become a member of ACCE...the Association of Community and Continuing Education and receive the Directory of Members and Colleges. The directory lists each community college in the state along with names, addresses, and phone numbers for community and continuing education professionals. Many of our members wear multiple hats, so to best serve you, we are organized into three Councils:

  • Community Services/Education
  • Noncredit/Adult Education

An ACCE representative who is tops in their field and is readily available to answer your questions and/or refer you to other professionals who can assist you leads each Council. Your ACCE colleagues know that talking to a real person who has been there and done that and survived...is key to achieving success in your field. Join ACCE and you'll never be alone again; the answers to your questions are just a phone call away!

Directories are available at the cost of $60 each, which includes membership.  For three or more directories, the cost is only $53 each.  An invoice will be sent to the main (first) contact entered upon approval of the application.  Directories and membership are available to current California Community College full-time employees and affiliate membership is available to other businesses/individuals recommended by a member at $300 per directory.  Enter the name of the first directory purchase for membership/directory information and main contact and then indicating in the comments section other members (2nd and beyond from the same college) with any different contact information as applicable.  For affiliate members, indicate in the comments section who is recommending you for membership/directory purchase.
